About the Innovation

Ms. Homuth is the Founder and CEO of Sheertex, the company behind the world’s first unbreakable sheer knit. Made with the same type of fibers found in ballistic materials, the Sheertex knit can be used in a variety of high-performance products like the company’s flagship product, sheer pantyhose. Sheertex’s proprietary manufacturing process is bringing new manufacturing jobs to its headquarters in Montreal.

About the Innovator

As a serial entrepreneur, Katherine Homuth has exited two companies. ShopLocket, a pre-order platform, acquired in 2014 by PCH and Female Funders, an online education program for female investors, acquired by Highline Beta in 2017. She is currently the Founder/CEO of Sheertex, a Montreal-based textiles manufacturing and e-commerce company behind the world's strongest pantyhose. She has been named one of Forbes Top 30 Under 30, one of the Women to Watch in Wearables, one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women and one of Flare's Sixty Under 30. In addition, she is a recipient of the Manning Innovation Award. For her contribution to the entrepreneurial ecosystem and her innovation in textiles, Katherine Homuth is one of Canada’s most exciting entrepreneurs to watch.
